Port Vale have announced that Ryan Campbell-Gordon, the club’s youth team player of the year has signed a two-year professional contract.
A club statement said:
We are delighted to announce that Ryan Campbell-Gordon, this season’s Youth Team Player of the Year, has signed his first professional contract with the club.
Ryan has put pen to paper to a two-year contract that will keep the young defender in Burslem until 2021.
Campbell-Brown has been credited as a versatile defender that can play across the defensive line but prefers the full-back role.
His performances over the course of the season have certainly caught the eye and Academy Manager, Sevvy Aslam, is made up for Ryan having now signed his first professional contract.
He said: “Ryan is a modern day left back who is quick, athletic and has the ability to go past players.
“Ryan has overcome a lot of challenges to secure this two-year contract here at Port Vale.
“The club and all the academy staff have supported Ryan over the last few years and his commitment to the club shows, having turned away interest from other clubs.
“It is brilliant to see the club continue to support their prospects.”
Everyone at the club would like to congratulate Ryan on his new contract and we look forward to seeing how he continues to develop over the next few seasons.
